Research and standards
OCN's ventures are applied research. Each a field deployment of open innovation methods developed through peer-reviewed publication and international standards authorship. The research began with an MSc (First Class Honours, TU Dublin) examining how blockchain actually deploys in regulated industries, in the wild, not in the lab. It has continued without interruption since.

Governance
Chair
NSAI National Blockchain Mirror Committee
Ireland's national standards body position for blockchain and distributed ledger technology. Fiona Delaney represents Ireland's national position in international DLT standardisation through ISO TC307.
Co-Chair
EUOS Blockchain and DLT Working Group
European standards governance position, contributing to the coordination of European national positions on blockchain and DLT policy and standardisation.
The Founder
Fiona Delaney founded Origin Chain Networks in 2019, grounded in an MSc First Class Honours from TU Dublin researching how blockchain deploys in regulated industries in the wild, not in the lab. In the years since, she has overseen nine applied ventures across food safety, agri-food climate data, biodiversity verification, and software carbon accounting while also holding some of the most consequential governance positions in European DLT standardisation.
She is currently Chair of Ireland's National Blockchain Mirror Committee at NSAI, Co-Chair of the EUOS Blockchain and DLT Working Group, and Project Lead and Editor of ISO 24878. Peer-reviewed research published across IEEE, Zenodo, and ResearchGate.
Founder Consultancy
Fiona has acted as founding consultant on Bluesky BioVFA (UCD AgTech Hub), Defactor, and SEEBLOCKS.eu. These engagements are adjacent to OCN in domain and methodology, but not carried under the OCN banner.
